Below is a simple invoice layout you can copy by hand into a document, or generate automatically, already formatted, using EaseFlow's invoice generator.
The template
[Your Business Name]
[Phone / Email / WhatsApp]
Invoice
INV-0001
Billed to[Client Name]
Issue date[DD/MM/YYYY]
Due date[DD/MM/YYYY]
[Item / service] × [qty]₦[amount]
[Item / service] × [qty]₦[amount]
Subtotal₦[amount]
Total due₦[amount]
Pay to[Bank / Account details]
What each section is for
- Header — your business name and a way to reach you, plus the invoice number.
- Billed to — the customer's name (and business name, if relevant).
- Dates — when it was issued and when payment is due.
- Line items — each product or service with its own quantity and price, not a single total.
- Totals — subtotal, any discount or tax, and a final total that's easy to spot.
- Payment details — how the customer actually pays you.
Filling this in by hand vs. generating it
Copying this layout into a document works, but you'll be retyping your business details and recalculating totals on every single invoice. EaseFlow's invoice generator uses this same structure, but your business details, client list, and product list are saved once, totals are calculated for you, and the invoice is numbered automatically — so creating the next one takes a couple of minutes instead of starting from a blank page.
